How to Raise a Happy Child (and be happy too). | Get To Know Us

Our Philosophy

How to Raise a Happy Child (and be happy too) is a complete set of refreshing new parenting tools, techniques and approaches for raising children who thrive.  We are committed to giving parents, teachers and childTaryn Voget and Heather Criswell - Raise A Happy Child Book Authors care professionals the strategies they need to create happiness for their children and themselves too.

Children in this world are demanding we treat them differently and our parenting approaches need to be updated and modernized to match them.  Rewards and punishments are no longer getting results.  Stress and time pressures are requiring better ways to connect.  And the demands of society and schools make it more important than ever to ensure we and our children find and listen to our own inner compass.

This website, book, video series, and set of tools will help parents discover powerful new ways of raising capable, responsible and happy children.  It’s a collaboration between Heather Criswell, founder of WiseInside, and Taryn Voget, cofounder of the Everyday Genius Institute.

Meet Heather Criswell

I’ve spent my entire life working with and loving children.  In 20 years working with over 30,000 kids I have developed a unique approach to parenting.  And with the help of Taryn Voget, from the Everyday Genius Institute, I am excited to share my strategies with you.

Heather Criswell HeadshotMy passion for kids was noticed by a high school teacher and she created a program where I could work with Head Start preschools all over Las Vegas.  When I was just 21 years old, my father believed in my dream to open a different kind of pre-school; a school where children were empowered, celebrated for their unique gifts and unconditionally loved. My entire family contributed time, energy, and money to make this dream a reality…and “See World Learning Center” was born.

For nearly a decade I raised a generation of children who believed they were a gift to the world and educated them on how to share those gifts with others.  My husband and I fostered many children over these years.  All of these amazing children had so much to teach me about how to communicate with them.

Years later my passion spread to impacting the lives of entire families. I established the “Touch of Life Wellness Center”, which was a place people could come for healing and personal transformation.

I had a passion for making an even bigger impact on the planet and a few years ago I launched WiseInside  a company that creates products for kids and adults to connect and feel good.  I also speak to audiences all over and coach parents and teachers.

This book project, along with this website, is my latest creation.  It brings together all of 25 years of my experience and wisdom.  My goal is to bring the world the most effective and loving parenting tools, techniques and approaches so that they can raise happy children (and be happy too).

Meet Taryn Voget

I am the CEO and Co-founder of the Everyday Genius Institute. My company deconstructs how the world’s best do what they do, and shares their strategies in our educational book and video series. We also help individuals discover and expand their own unique genius.

Taryn Voget HeadshotTo be perfectly honest, I never thought I would do a project on parenting.  How could I find someone to model who is effective with kids no matter what their background?  That seemed impossible….until I met Heather Criswell.  She is, as you’ll come to see, a true kid-whisper.  When my sisters would call me wanting help with their young kids (my nieces and nephews) I would ask Heather for advice.  Her unconventional and counter-intuitive techniques worked brilliantly every time.  She shared fresh approaches I hadn’t heard before and I found myself thinking that we had to share her enlightened, truly genius strategies with the world.  Over nearly a year we worked together to deconstruct her strategies and bring them to parents everywhere.

Before designing my dream job rubbing elbows with geniuses, I studied at Georgetown University and Oxford University, and spent 13 years as a strategy and operations consultant for the top companies in the world. Out of sheer necessity while consulting with the Fortune 100, I developed an uncanny knack for unpacking and streamlining complex processes. Through my years of working with dozens of business and thousands of people, I’ve developed the unwavering belief that genius is always in the simplicity.

My desire to reveal strategies of genius and make them accessible to everyone ignited my inspiration for the Everyday Genius Institute.  Tim Hallbom is my cofounder and a world-renowned Behavioral Scientist.  He brings so much genius our company.

In addition to running the Everyday Genius Institute,  I research, write, speak, teach, consult and coach around the world on the subject of genius and human potential.
